This year, SCALE, the Symposium for Cosmetic Advances and Laser Education, welcomed over 1,400 faculty members, exhibitors, and attendees back to Nashville, TN, for our 17th Annual Meeting.
With five days full of lectures, special sessions, live patient demonstrations, and tons more, this year’s meeting has been our most successful yet!
Let’s take a look at some of the highlights of SCALE 2022:
Special Sessions:
This year, for the first time ever, SCALE not only added a third special session to our agenda but also introduced ultrasound-guided techniques and hands-on training to our already popular facial anatomy special session courses to enhance understanding of safety zones and improve patient outcomes.
On Wednesday, May 11th, Dr. Patrick Clark led one of our most popular sessions, “Lasers 101.” A crowd favorite, many attendees return to this course year after year, learning something new each time.
We also held our “Facial Anatomy Workshop with Ultrasound-Guided Facial Anatomy Techniques” session on Wednesday. It featured SCALE co-founder, Dr. Brian Biesman, world-renowned facial anatomist, Professor Sebastian Cotofana, facial ultrasound expert, Dr. Leonie Schelke, and expert injector Molly Katz, RN. The four 90-minute modules focused on toxins, upper face, middle face, and lower face. Each module included a detailed explanation of the anatomy, as seen in the cadaver. Each lesson was reinforced in real-time by using ultrasound technology to guide injections on a live model.
On Thursday, May 12th, we introduced our newest special session, “Facial Ultrasound Imaging Hands-on Course” with Dr. Leonie Schelke, Professor Sebastian Cotofana, Dr. Brian Biesman, Nicola Lowrey, PA-C, and Molly Katz, RN. Attendees were able to use ultrasound technologies and hands-on training techniques to ensure safe and effective injection techniques.
