As we all work tirelessly to achieve our “new normal,” Nashville, Tennessee is giving us a bit of a break with some amazing events and things to do. Most notably, the 17th annual Music City SCALE, the premier multidisciplinary meeting for aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery, and medical dermatology, is back at the Grand Hyatt in Downtown Nashville March 11-15, 2022, hosted by Michael H. Gold, MD & Brian Biesman, MD.
SCALE 2021 was a huge success at its new home in Downtown Nashville, hosting 130 vendors and over 800 attendees. This year we’re looking forward to replicating and exceeding last year’s
success. One of the highlights this year, as in previous years, will be the live cadaver course workshop with unique hands-on ultrasound guidance techniques. Not to be missed, lectures, live patient
demonstrations, and a multitude of vendors will also be present. While in Nashville, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some incredible sites, activities and some
of the best food in the nation. When we think of Nashville, of course, music is one of the first things to come to mind. With an abundance of live music venues, you’ll have no shortage of
places to enjoy the sounds of Nashville at one of the many Honky Tonks, pumping out live music and great drinks. Specifically, you’ll want to check out the Honky Tonk Highway, a four-block stretch of Lower Broadway featuring country western-themed shops and restaurants, and you’ll pass numerous honky-tonks with live music playing all day.
Here are a few great places to check out:
● The Basement
● Mercy Lounge
● The Station Inn
● The 5 Spot
● Bootleggers Inn
● Rocketown
● Live Oak
All with a unique aesthetic and energy, you’ll want to hop around as much as possible. After all that music, you’ll certainly be needing a bite to eat. Luckily, you don’t have to venture very far as the legendary Broadway Street plays host to a cornucopia of restaurants:
● The Stillery
● Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar
● Acme Feed and Seed
● Merchants
● Robert’s Western World
Are all amazing places for a bite. But the list goes on and on! Of course, we can’t forget the amazing rooftop lounge at the Grand Hyatt. After you’ve spent the day learning and exploring it’s an easy and wonderful way to round out your day with sweeping views of the city.
One of the most exciting events taking place on May 11th (aside from SCALE) is the Grand Ole Opry. This is one of the most legendary, not just Country, but all around music shows in the world. Every performance is a one-night-only lineup featuring country music’s greats, a few surprises, and a couple of hand-picked, rising stars that are making their own claim for fame. Never rehearsed and never the same show twice, it’s always an incredible and unique experience. On May 14th, The Iroquois Steeplechase takes place. This iconic sporting event has been Nashville’s rite of spring since 1941. Held the second Saturday of each May at Percy Warner Park, the annual event attracts more than 25,000 spectators and is Music City’s celebration of time-honored traditions, Tennessee hospitality and southern fashions. The event also supports several philanthropic causes and has donated nearly $11 million to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt since 1981.
Other must-see attractions include the Country Music Hall of Fame, Centennial Park (which is also where you can find the Parthenon), the Frist Art Museum and much much more! With so many options, you won’t be able to cover everything in the few days during SCALE 2022 but rest assured there will never be a dull moment! We’re excited to host Music City SCALE, all of the vendors and attendees alike May 11-15 2022!
